Gateway could get offline due to various reasons like either gateway could have gone faulty or there is a network or a router issue.
Module may have gone faulty due to battery problem or any other hardware problem.
This could happen because someone has removed the module from the water meter, or the blades of meter (considering muti jet meters) have got broken or there is some other meter malfunction.
